South Florida Teen Taking Over The Music Scene One Track At A Time By Christina Nicholson

At just 14-years-old, Alex Ariete is infiltrating the music industry in South Florida. What started as a hobby and something fun to do at camp, has turned into a career of music producing and DJing.
“When I was 10, I got my first turntable for Christmas, then was DJing a New Year’s Eve party in Boca Raton for some family friends,” Alex remembers. “From that first gig, the word started to spread and before I knew it, my career not only started, but was growing fast.”
With Alex every step of the way are his parents, Victor and Rose Popovics.
“We noticed his interest in music when he was very young, Alex’s mom Rose Popovics said. “He started dancing at 8-years-old, then a few years later we found a DJ class for him… and his talent developed into a whole new level we did not expect.”
When Alex isn’t creating mash-ups, he is hosting his own radio show called Dance Therapy where he plays music and interviews big names in the music industry – Djs, producers, and singers.
“I had a goal of talking to big names in the music industry. Now that I’m doing that, I’m working hard to learn more to achieve my next goal,” Alex said. “I want to become one of the top DJs in the world and collaborate with others like Calvin Harris and David Guetta.”
With a resume like this, before even receiving a driver’s license or voter’s registration, the sky is the limit for Alex Ariete.
“We are so lucky to have a son who has not only found himself, but found something he truly loves,” Popovics said.
